Lila, a small girl approximately five feet and 2 inches in height, stood in the harsh winter cold. A small red rose was clutched tightly in her hand. Pulling her black hood over her head, she knelt down at the grave which read:
Tears rolled down the young female's pale face. Pulling a strand of her platinum blond hair behind her ear, she clasped her hands together in front of her. Closing her eyes, she began to start her silent prayer
"My lord, I love thee dearly. I pray that my mother has learned much from you. She has always talked much of you. However, I do not know you, I would like to thank you for keeping her with us as long as you did. Her suffering was great and you eased her pain and made it possible for her to see us every night and tell of the days of her youth. " she gave a soft but somewhat sad laugh. her reminiscing made her happy. It made her feel as though her mother was still there. " Dear lord, thank you so much, and do please take good care of my mother. And in your blessed and holy name, amen."
She took in a deep breath. She was not too sure of if her prayers had reached this so called creator of heaven and earth that her mother had told her about, but she decided she would give him a try. Placing the red rose at the gravestone, she silently stood to her feet. Shaking her head, she turned slowly as she wiped away a solemn tear.
It had been 2 weeks since the death of her beloved mother. She frowned as she began to avert her gaze from the snow covered ground. She truly missed her mother's presence. She was now left with her father to watch over her two younger bothers. Both were more then a handful. However, they were too naive to understand the concept of death completely. They seemed quite unaffected by the occurrence and didn't seem to care.
Lila quietly picked up the hem of her lavender dress and began to take a swift step into the rest of the graveyard. It would soon be night, and she needed to get home to her father and two brothers. They would be worried about her.
Gazing upward, she looked straight ahead and then gasped in surprise. Her eyes widened in shock. stumbling backwards she fell back into the crunching snow in front of her mother's grave.
